Reflexology is a complementary therapy which works with the body’s own healing and balancing processes.
It can help to release tension and promote relaxation.
How does it feel?
During a reflexology treatment I will apply pressure to different reflex points on your feet or hands. These correspond to areas and organs within the body. Sometimes areas on the feet can be tender or feeling ‘lumpy’ or ‘crunchy’. I will spend time gently working on these. Each hour long treatment ends with a lovely relaxing foot massage.
How reflexology might help you
Some people find reflexology helps them cope better with stress and gives them a general sense of wellbeing. It can help people who are feeling tired have more restful sleep and feel generally more relaxed.
The frequency of treatments is up to you. I will usually recommend that you have regular treatments lengthening the time between treatments once the reflexology starts to take effect. For some problems, especially longstanding ones, this can take a little while. Once things have stabilised treatment can be moved to monthly to maintain the sense of wellbeing. You might chose to stop after a series of treatments, some people carry on. It’s up to you.
